ARCHITECTURAL PROJECTS
"Lavoute Chilhac" priory is located on the banks of a meander of the Allier river.This monastic congregation, which is under the guardianship of Cluny Abbey, is characterized by the following construction periods :
1) 11th century, with traces of this construction period still existing,
2) 15th century, the existing church and certain fortifications,
3) 18th century, the architectural masterpiece as it stands today, completed in 1778 following the plans of architect Antoine Duval.
The restoration project concerned the entire south wing, where most of the original features have been preserved.The building, which has been listed as a historical monument since 2001, will be converted into accommodations under the authority of the DRAC of the Auvergne.Total cost of the project: 2.5 million euros.
