This project consisted in building 15 houses on a very narrow strip of land, the narrowest part of which links up with "Boulevard de la Democratie".
An attractive early 20th century house was preserved although a demolition permit to pull down the lean-to sheds was applied for at the same time as the planning permission for the entire project. Due to the narrowness of the plot and the development rights and restrictions, (for example, the road had to be 8 metres wide), the site plan sort of came naturally. The houses are basically square shaped and have ground and upper floors.
In order to maintain a unity between the urban and semi-urban plan of the estate, a gap was left between each group of three semi-detached houses. The facades and openings of the houses were all treated differently to add variety to the ensemble. One of the constraints of the site was to open up and improve the access to three jointly-owned plots.
Finally, the red walls, which contrast with the wooden cladding and the large openings out to the small gardens, add a contemporary touch to the housing estate.
